Because I get a tremendous kick out of the numbered lists that appear throughout Buddhism (the Triple Refuge, the Noble Eightfold Path, the Four Noble Facts, the eight advantageous symbols), I decided to call these basic concepts as my Eight Splendid Realities.

Each one of these facts sounds fairly apparent and simple, however each was the item of tremendous idea. Take the 2nd Splendid Truth– it’s hard to exaggerate the clearness I got when I finally handled to put it into words. Here they are:

First Splendid Fact

To be better, you have to think about feeling good, feeling bad, and feeling right, in an environment of growth.

2nd Magnificent Reality

One of the very best ways to make yourself pleased is to make other people pleased;
One of the best methods to make other people pleased is to be happy yourself.

Third Splendid Truth

The days are long, however the years are brief. (Click here to see my one-minute movie; of whatever I’ve discussed joy, I think this video resonates most with people.)

4th Remarkable Fact

You’re not pleased unless you believe you’re happy.
(Numerous argue the opposite case. John Stuart Mill, for instance, composed, “Ask yourself whether you enjoy, and you stop to be so.” I disagree.)

Fifth Superb Truth

I can construct a happy life just on the foundation of my own nature.

Sixth Splendid Fact

The only individual I can alter is myself.

Seventh Splendid Fact

Pleased individuals make people happy, but
I can’t make someone enjoy, and
Nobody else can make me delighted.

Eighth Splendid Truth

Now is now.

Now I’m trying to come up with my personal 8 advantageous signs for happiness. Let’s see– bluebird, ruby slippers, dice, blood, bird house, treasure box, roses … hmmm. I will need to keep thinking of that.
